Information for Guest Choirs

Applications for performance dates through April 4, 2025 are being accepted.
Performances will be subject to a fee for a 45-minute long program.

The Guest Choir Concert Series features top-level high school, college, church, cathedral and professional choirs from around the world. If your choir would like to perform on this concert series, your ensemble’s director may apply to reserve a date and time.

Applications will be considered once the application and all accompanying materials are submitted. Prospective applicants must apply at least two months in advance of the prospective performance date(s).  We are accepting applications through April 4, 2025.

FAQ

• ONLY the conductor of the ensemble may apply
• tour coordinators, travel agents, administrative assistants, or other intermediaries, may not apply on behalf of the conductor
• applications submitted by anyone other than the conductor will be automatically dismissed.
• choral ensembles of eight or more singers are eligible
• we cannot accommodate bands, orchestras, or chamber ensembles
• choral concerts take place weekdays from 1:45PM-2:45PM, subject to availability. Click here to see known blackout dates
• choral concerts cannot take place on weekends, during the Christmas holiday, Holy Week, or on Holy Days
• guest choirs may not perform for a Mass
• the Cathedral does not offer any stipend or financial assistance to guest performing groups
• there is no piano in the sanctuary, and only experienced classical organists may use the organ to accompany. Currently, the Chancel Organ is out for renovation.  The Gallery Organ from the west end may be used.
• the concert program must be appropriate for a sacred space and for the liturgical season (e.g. no Broadway tunes, pop songs, love songs, etc. "Alleluia" and is not permitted to be sung during Lent)
• on the day of the performance, your group must arrive by 1:15PM ready to perform
• There is no warm-up space or holding area to change attire

Only the choir's conductor may apply for a performance and correspond with the Cathedral. Any and all correspondence, including emails and phone calls from anyone other than the choir's conductor (tour coordinators, travel agents, representatives, choir secretaries, assistant choir directors, administrative assistants, etc.) will not be replied to. 

In the application form, you will need to provide a high-resolution photo of the choir and a proposed program of no more than 45 minutes of music, complete with full composer/arranger names and the performance timing of each piece. 

ACKNOWLEDGMENT: I certify that I, the applicant, am the choir's conductor, and not a tour coordinator or otherwise, who will fill out the online application form. I am not a representative or other intermediary acting on behalf of, or impersonating, the choir’s director, and I understand that this application will be denied if the information submitted therein is found to have been sent by an unauthorized party.
