Cathedral of St. Patrick
Dr. Jennifer Pascual, Director of Music
Donald Dumler, Principal Organist
Robert M. Evers, Music Administrator
General Information:
- Musicians serving at your wedding are from the Cathedral of St. Patrick Music Department. The Cathedral employs both a Principal and an Associate Organist, and maintains a roster of professional singers. Therefore, no outside musicians are permitted to perform during Cathedral weddings.
- Your fee paid to the Cathedral includes an organist and one singer.
- The number of musical selections at your wedding will be determined by the type of ceremony you have planned. A Nuptial Mass is a Solemn Mass including Communion rites. The Responsorial Psalm should be sung.
| Nuptial Mass (4 selections) | Wedding Ceremony (3 selections) |
| 1 Processional | 1 Processional |
| 1 Offertory selection | 1 Selection after the exchange of rings |
| 1 Communion selection | 1 Recessional |
| 1 Recessional |
1 Recessional
- Only ONE selection will be played during the procession of the Bridal Party and the Bride.
- Two popular pieces - the “Bridal Chorus” by Richard Wagner (also known as “Here Comes the Bride”), and the “Wedding March” by Felix Mendelssohn, are not used in the Cathedral. These pieces are distinctly secular, and while secular music may well be suited for use at a wedding reception, it is not considered appropriate for the sacred Liturgy. You will find the musical selections approved by the Cathedral to be of an appropriate and joyful nature for your wedding.
- The Cathedral of St. Patrick has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Weddings cancelled within 24 hours of the Liturgy are non-refundable.
The Cathedral-approved musical selections on the CD are listed on this page. Organ selections are divided into two categories, Processional Music and Recessional Music. Vocal Music is also listed.
