On June 30, 2011, Archbishop Timothy Dolan lit a Virtual Prayer Candle and invited the faithful from around the world to join him in using a new technological medium to participate in an ancient ritual of prayer. The Archbishop also lit a candle that will burn in St. Patrick's Cathedral honoring all those who light a candle online. Several news outlets and blogs picked up the story.
